Rep. Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congress member representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, shared several important messages on social media this week addressing issues related to veterans’ housing, healthcare workers, and infrastructure safety.
On May 6, Pappas highlighted concerns about veterans potentially losing their homes due to the cancellation of a crucial VA home loan assistance program by the Trump administration. He emphasized the need for better support for veterans, stating “Thousands of veterans are at risk of losing their homes because the Trump administration canceled a critical VA home loan assistance program. We must do better by our veterans.”
The following day, May 7, Pappas extended his gratitude during National Nurses Week. He recognized nurses in New Hampshire and across the United States for their dedication and service, saying “Happy National Nurses Week to our nurses in the Granite State and across the US! Thank you for all you do to serve, help, and care for those in need.”
Later on May 7, Rep. Pappas addressed infrastructure safety concerns identified by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The NTSB reported that 68 bridges require updated risk assessments, including Portsmouth’s Memorial Bridge. In response, Pappas urged for immediate action to ensure public safety: “.@NTSB identified 68 bridges as lacking up-to-date risk assessments, including Portsmouth’s Memorial Bridge. For the safety of Granite Staters and visitors, I’m pushing for an urgent completion of an up-to-date risk assessment.”
Chris Pappas has served in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and has a background in state politics from his tenure in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
