Rep. Chris Pappas, who represents New Hampshire’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on October 7, 2025, to address concerns about health care tax breaks and federal worker pay, criticizing the actions of congressional Republicans and the White House.

In a post published at 20:49 UTC, Pappas stated, “Granite Staters cannot afford the political games being pulled by Republicans who control Congress and the White House. Without an extension of these critical health care tax breaks for working families, millions will be forced to go without health care, and even more could see”.

Later the same day, at 21:41 UTC, he referenced his role in passing legislation in 2019 that secured back pay for federal workers. Pappas wrote, “In 2019 I helped pass the bill that guarantees federal workers get back pay so our families don’t pay for political dysfunction in D.C. President Trump signed it into law. Hardworking Granite Staters are not pawns for Republicans in Washington. They deserve to be paid what they”.

A follow-up tweet at 21:41 UTC provided additional information: “Read more: https://t.co/uy8AdatGGy”.

Pappas, who was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980 and currently resides there, graduated from Harvard University in 2002.
