Rep. Chris Pappas, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has expressed his views on several issues through a series of tweets. Pappas, who succeeded Carol Shea-Porter in 2019 and previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010, continues to be an active voice for his constituents.
On May 13, 2025, Rep. Pappas criticized a bill introduced by House Republicans, stating that it aims to “make severe cuts to Medicaid and strip health care from 8.6 million people,” including vulnerable groups such as children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. He emphasized his commitment to urging colleagues not to betray those most in need (“With this bill…”).
Later that day, Pappas highlighted the success of the Congressional Art Competition held in New Hampshire’s first district for the seventh consecutive year. He praised the talented student artists who participated and thanked them for their contributions (“The arts are alive…”).
On May 14, 2025, Pappas addressed delays concerning appointments to the Office of Congressional Conduct’s board by Speaker Johnson. The office serves as a nonpartisan watchdog ensuring accountability within the House. Pappas noted that he had called out these delays and expressed relief that appointments were finally made (“The Office of Congressional Conduct…”).
