Rep. Chris Pappas, U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, recently shared updates on social media about his positions on federal policy and local initiatives in New Hampshire.
On April 2, 2026, Pappas posted a statement emphasizing the values of local governance and opposition to federal intervention: “In the Live Free or Die State, we believe in local control, free and fair elections, and fighting back against government overreach. Our local officials do an excellent job enforcing our laws. The President’s executive order is unconstitutional, and I won’t back down on”.
The following day, April 3, he highlighted a visit to a community program: “I visited CAP of Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties’s Head Start program at their Opportunity Center in Derry. I was glad to meet with leadership to discuss how we can continue supporting New Hampshire kids and families.”
Later that same day, Pappas discussed support for law enforcement after touring a local police department: “Yesterday I stopped by the Derry Police Department to get a tour and discuss recent funding I secured to help them keep their community safe. I’ll continue working to bring back resources to support the important work our law enforcement officers do every day.”
Chris Pappas has served as the representative for New Hampshire’s 1st district since 2019 after replacing Carol Shea-Porter. He previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980, Pappas graduated from Harvard University in 2002 with a BA and continues to reside in Manchester.
