I’m introducing legislation to exempt our small businesses from these disastrous tariffs with our closest trading partner, Canada.”

Later that day, he addressed veterans’ health care rights in another tweet: “Taking away health care from veterans and their families who have served our country is outrageous. I’ve helped introduce legislation to guarantee veterans’ right to make deeply personal medical choices about their bodies and what’s right for them.”

On August 6, 2025, Pappas marked the anniversary of landmark voting rights legislation by posting: “Today marks 60 years since the Voting Rights Act was signed into law to ensure the right to vote is protected in our democracy. Chris Pappas has represented New Hampshire’s 1st district in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Carol Shea-Porter. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010. Born in Manchester in 1980 and currently residing there at age 42, Pappas graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 2002.
