Jason Osborne, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, has commented on what he perceives as a growing culture of violence among left-wing activists. He said that this trend signals a spreading “assassination culture” and urged for an end to leftism. His remarks were made on the social media platform X.

“Initiation of violence is admission that the argument is lost,” said Osborne, Congress Member. “It’s time to close the book on leftism quickly before its assassination culture runs amok.”

According to KOMO News in April 2025, a survey conducted by the Network Contagion Research Institute revealed that many self-identified liberals showed openness to deadly violence against public figures such as Donald Trump and Elon Musk. This finding has sparked debate about the tolerance of political violence across different political spectrums. A related YouGov poll conducted after the killing of Charlie Kirk indicated that 87% of Americans view political violence as a problem, with 59% considering it a very significant issue.

Reuters reported in September 2025 that at least 21 individuals had been killed in politically motivated incidents across the United States during that year. Among these was a high-profile attack in New Orleans linked to jihadist influence. Experts have warned that such incidents indicate a worsening spiral of ideologically driven violence, posing risks to national political stability.

YouGov’s findings from September 2025 highlight growing concern about political violence across party lines. Republicans are more likely than Democrats to describe it as a “very big problem,” although both parties show increased concern compared to previous years. The heightened alarm follows the killing of Charlie Kirk and other notable incidents, affecting voters both young and old.

Osborne is described in his official biography as a Republican state representative from Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He has served since 2014 and has been the House Majority Leader since 2020. His legislative priorities include fiscal conservatism, tax reform, and government transparency, establishing him as a prominent figure within the state’s GOP caucus.
