Senator Hassan to Commemorate Memorial Day at Ceremonies at the Manchester VA Medical Center, the New Hampshire Veterans Home, and the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement ahead of Memorial Day:

“Memorial Day is a day to honor and express our gratitude to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. For Granite Staters in uniform, ‘Live Free or Die’ has never merely been a phrase. New Hampshire service members fight not just for their own individual freedom – but for the freedom of all people, the cause of freedom itself.

“We owe America’s fallen – and all of our service members and their families – a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay, but we have an obligation to try, each and every day. And while our own work will never measure up to the service of those who we have lost, by finding inspiration in their sacrifice, we can all do our part to honor their memory and help make our country a better place.”

Over Memorial Day weekend, Senator Hassan will deliver remarks at the Manchester VA Medical Center Memorial Day event, the New Hampshire Veterans Home Memorial Day Ceremony, and the Memorial Day Ceremony at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
