WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) released the following statement ahead of the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade:

“One year ago, the Supreme Court dealt a devastating blow to a woman’s fundamental freedom by overturning Roe v. Wade. Across the country, women are grappling with – often in horrific ways that jeopardize their health and their very lives – the personal impacts of the Supreme Court’s decision. At the same time, I have been inspired over the last year by the women and men all across the country who are speaking up for a woman’s freedom and working to protect reproductive rights. While anti-choice extremists continue their efforts to try to ban abortion, we will keep working together to expand reproductive rights. In the Live Free or Die state, we take our freedom seriously and will always fight to protect it.”
