Madysen Audet, a 22-year-old resident of Keene, is now paralyzed from the waist down after being assaulted at a Pitbull concert Aug. 29.
According to Valley News, she was struck in the head by two adults after they fought over an alcoholic beverage. Pitbull is rapper and dancer who is internationally well-known.
"A New Hampshire woman is fighting paralysis after being assaulted Sunday during a hip-hop concert featuring Pitbull at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford. Police say they've identified a suspect in the attack, but no arrest has been made," reads a Sept. 1 Tweet from New Hampshire Life.
Audet, a graduate of Concord High School, had attended the concert with friends, according to Concord Patch. She was caught up in an altercation with a man, apparently about a stolen drink. The man then assaulted her. A woman had joined the assault later, during which Audet lost consciousness and fell.
As of Sept. 2, the authorities reported that they had identified a suspect but also said that it is early in the investigation, and they are trying to obtain more statements by witnesses.
Audet's brother, Nicholas Ford, has started a GoFundMe page, and the goal is to raise $30,000. As of September 14, a total of $20,000 had been raised.
