President Joe Biden recently delivered a speech on the dilapidated New Hampshire 175 (NH 175) bridge across the Pemigewasset River to promote his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, according to a report by CNN.

According to Biden, the infrastructure bill would help facilitate the reconstruction of bridges such as the NH 175, which has been labeled as "structurally deficient" by the state.

“This is the NH 175 bridge. It opened back in 1939 and has been structurally deficient for years," Biden tweeted Nov. 16. "The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I signed yesterday will help transform the bridge and countless others across the country.”

While in Woodstock, New Hampshire, Biden said that his infrastructure bill would provide the largest investment in road and bridge rehabilitation in 70 years.

"The law is going to speed up the replacement of bridges by at least a  year and allow New Hampshire to invest in other critical infrastructure  needs," he said, according to CNN.

The legislation will invest $550 billion of new federal investments in America's infrastructure over the next five years, including funding for roads, bridges, mass transit, rail, airports, ports and waterways.

According to CNN, the White House said that the New Hampshire Department of Transportation would use infrastructure funding to "fully rehabilitate the historic structure," which is expected to cost around $4.5 million.
