Wolfeboro Public Informational Workshop Meeting

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold a Public Informational Workshop to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed Wolfeboro Route 28 project. The project will improve approximately 1.6 miles of Route 28 beginning at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and ending at the intersection of Route 109 (Pickering Corner) in the Town of Wolfeboro. The purpose of the project and description of work within the Ten-Year Plan includes improving the pavement conditions, drainage and water quality, and mobility and safety for all users of Route 28. 

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February, 16, 2023 at the Wolfeboro Town Hall, 84 Main Street, Wolfeboro, NH in the Great Hall. 

The intent of the workshop is for the public to learn about the proposed alternatives and to be able to ask questions and provide comments. The agenda for the workshop includes: 

  • 6:00 PM, Doors will open for informal viewing of project materials 
  • 6:15 PM, Introductory presentation by Department’s Design Team followed by  
  • 6:30-8:00 pm, Workshop  
An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.  This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting. 

In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be rescheduled and information presented on Thursday, February, 23, 2023. Notices will be posted on the NHDOT and Town’s website. 

NHDOT programs and services will be administered in accordance with the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all applicable regulations to ensure nondiscrimination. Notification of the need for assistance must be made at least seven business days prior to this meeting/hearing.
