FOIA Request to New Hampshire Secretary of State- Elections and Voting Division Regarding Spring Elections Candidates for Office on February 5, 2025.

In our continued commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Granite State Times have sent a request under the Right to Know Law (RSA. 91-A) to the New Hampshire Secretary of State- Elections and Voting Division. The request seeks information about all candidates running in the upcoming spring elections.

Specifically, we have asked for a list of all candidates that includes their first, middle, and last names, the office they are running for, the jurisdiction of that office, and their party affiliation. In addition to this, we have also requested contact information for each candidate including their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that as media professionals disseminating information to the public we are eligible for a fee waiver.

We await a response from the New Hampshire Secretary of State- Elections and Voting Division regarding our request.
