On February 4, 2025, Rep. Chris Pappas emphasized the importance of classifying fentanyl analogues as Schedule I substances to aid law enforcement in combating drug trafficking. He stated that "Scheduling deadly fentanyl analogues as Schedule I ensures law enforcement have the necessary tools to crack down on traffickers and save lives." Pappas noted that while temporary extensions have been made previously, his bill aims to make this classification permanent.

The following day, February 5, 2025, Rep. Pappas expressed gratitude for a visit from Dylan, who shared experiences from the Special Olympics. He tweeted: "Thanks for stopping by to share stories about your Special Olympics experience, Dylan!"
