The City of Lebanon announced on Mar. 27 that work continues on the Trues Brook Road Bridge Replacement Project in West Lebanon, with several milestones reached since the previous update.
The project is important for maintaining safe and reliable transportation infrastructure in the area. The updates outline completed tasks, current activities, and upcoming plans for the next month.
According to city officials, recent accomplishments include installing a temporary cofferdam around the south bridge abutment and establishing a sedimentation basin and filtration system to manage water pumped from the site. Excavation began around the south abutment to prepare for concrete footings; however, significant ledge was encountered, requiring specialized equipment for removal. Maintenance efforts have focused on keeping the cofferdam functional during freeze–thaw conditions to protect workers and Bloods Brook.
Current work involves ongoing maintenance of the cofferdam and stabilization efforts. Ledge removal and further excavation will resume once conditions allow. In April, construction will begin on a second cofferdam around another bridge abutment. Demolition of existing structures is scheduled before forming and pouring new concrete footings for both abutments, with completion anticipated by month’s end.
