On March 5, 2025, Rep. Chris Pappas tweeted about his legislative initiative aimed at protecting veterans from fraudulent activities: "My GUARD VA Benefits Act would reinstate criminal penalties for unaccredited, for-profit claim sharks scamming veterans of their earned benefits. I worked alongside veterans to craft this legislation. It has bipartisan support. Let’s get it across the finish line this Congress."
