Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, has recently highlighted several key issues through his social media platform. In a series of tweets, Pappas discussed the importance of child advocacy, road safety measures, and the economic impact of tariffs.

On April 16, 2025, Pappas mentioned the work done by the Child Advocacy Centers. He acknowledged their efforts in supporting children who have faced trauma, emphasizing the importance of this work for ensuring the well-being of children. As he tweeted, ".@GSCANH’s Child Advocacy Centers do important work to provide support and care to children who have experienced trauma, ensuring all kids can have bright futures & full lives ahead." Pappas stated his ongoing support for investments in such community services.

Later that day, on April 16, Pappas turned to the subject of road safety. He expressed a commitment to addressing the issue of impaired driving, calling it both tragic and preventable. As part of his efforts, he is advocating for a bipartisan bill that would establish a national standard for improving safety measures on roadways. He articulated this commitment by stating, "Every life lost to impaired driving is a tragedy and a preventable death. We must do more to combat drunk driving and prevent repeated offenses."

On April 17, 2025, Pappas expressed his concerns regarding President Trump's tariff policies. He relayed feedback from businesses in New Hampshire's forest products industry, who have been adversely affected by these tariffs. Pappas tweeted about the economic disruption caused by the tariffs, noting the implications for both small businesses and housing development. He observed, "President Trump’s sweeping tariffs are creating chaos for families, small businesses, and our economy."

Chris Pappas, born in Manchester in 1980 and a Harvard University graduate, has served since 2019 in Congress representing New Hampshire’s 1st district, after preceding U.S. Congress member Carol Shea-Porter. Prior to that, he was part of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010.
