Chris Pappas, a U.S. Congressman representing New Hampshire’s 1st District, has recently shared several updates via social media regarding legislative initiatives and local community events. Pappas, who succeeded Carol Shea-Porter in 2019, is actively engaged in matters affecting his constituents.

On March 9, 2025, Pappas announced the commencement of retroactive payments for eligible retired public servants under the Social Security Fairness Act. He encouraged those who qualify to reach out to his office if they do not see changes after a few weeks. "Thanks to the Social Security Fairness Act, which I fought to pass, retroactive payments for eligible retired public servants have begun and increased benefits start soon."

The following day, March 10, 2025, he reminded high school students from New Hampshire’s First District about the upcoming deadline for the Congressional Art Competition. The competition closes on April 18th at 5 PM. "The deadline for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition is April 18th at 5 PM!"

Later that same day, Pappas highlighted his discussions with New Hampshire county officials concerning Medicaid funding and its importance for local communities. He emphasized the need for proper funding to ensure access to various health care services in the state. "Ensuring Medicaid is properly funded is critical to protecting Granite Staters’ access to all types of health care."
