U.S. Representative Chris Pappas, serving New Hampshire’s 1st district, has recently voiced concerns on several issues affecting his constituents through a series of tweets. Pappas, who has been in Congress since replacing Carol Shea-Porter in 2019, addressed topics related to energy assistance, a trade war, and tax filing services.

On April 4, 2025, Pappas highlighted the necessity of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which serves nearly 30,000 households in New Hampshire. He raised alarm over potential staffing reductions, emphasizing the potential risk to families' safety. Pappas asserted, "Nearly 30,000 households in New Hampshire utilize the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to stay safe during our cold winters. Gutting its staff may cost these families’ lives." He added that he led colleagues in advocating for the protection of this program.

Later the same day, Pappas criticized the trade policies introduced by the previous Trump administration, spotlighting the economic implications for local businesses and families. He stated on April 4, 2025, "This trade war started by the Trump administration is economic malpractice, and the high costs will be paid by New Hampshire businesses and working families." Pappas committed to exerting pressure on the administration to change its stance.

On April 5, 2025, Pappas shared practical information regarding tax filings. He reminded residents that Tax Day would fall on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and pointed out the availability of free tax services for many in New Hampshire. "Tax Day is Tuesday, April 15th. Free tax filing is available to most Granite Staters."
